Diageo India is among the country’s leading beverage alcohol companies with an outstanding collection of premium brands.
Respect for human rights should be a part of everyone’s working day, as enshrined in our Code of Business Conduct.
At Diageo India, we are committed to creating a workplace and value chain where everyone is treated fairly, with dignity and respect. Guided by the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights, we embed human rights into our daily operations—from our own sites to every part of our supply chain across the country. We proactively work to ensure that we do not infringe upon human rights and that we are not complicit in any human rights violations, directly or indirectly. Our approach is anchored in our policies, including our Human Rights Policy, and is an integral part of our Spirit of Progress 2030 agenda.
Responsible Sourcing in India
Our Responsible Sourcing team ensures that human rights principles are extended to suppliers and third-party partners in India. This includes rigorous supplier onboarding, monitoring, and capacity-building aligned with Diageo’s global Partnering with Suppliers Standard.
Training and Capacity Building
We roll out annual training for employees in India to promote awareness of human rights responsibilities, with enhanced modules for procurement, supply chain, and manufacturing teams who are more directly involved in managing human rights risks.
Grievance Mechanisms and Stakeholder Engagement
We provide a confidential whistleblowing mechanism for employees, suppliers, and communities to raise concerns. Every allegation is handled with care, ensuring fairness and follow-up action. We also engage with workers and communities across our sites through interviews, grievance reviews, and local dialogues, helping us stay responsive to expectations and emerging risks.
At Diageo India, doing business the right way—from grain to glass—means ensuring human rights are respected and protected, every step of the way.
