Business and hospitality skills programme
We want to create opportunities for people around the world to overcome barriers, boost their skills and build a better life for themselves and their families.
Our Learning for Life programme supports individuals facing barriers to education and employment, equipping them to pursue careers in the hospitality industry. It aims to provide equal access to skills and resources, boosting employability, improving livelihoods, and supporting a thriving hospitality sector. Our initiatives are crafted to create an enabling environment and sustainable livelihood opportunities, especially for women.
Learning for Life is Diageo’s business and hospitality skills programme for those seeking employment in the hospitality industry, but who may have faced barriers to education and employment in their lives. Further, In collaboration with the Skill Council for Persons with Disability (SCPwD), we implement a programme to mainstream people with speech, hearing & visual impairment (SHI) into the hospitality sector, by supporting them with relevant skills, resources and placement support through a 3 months residential training program. This is the impact we created:
- Trained 6,536 individuals since the programme’s launch in FY21
- In FY25, 67% of the beneficiaries were women
- In FY25, 303 persons with disability were trained through the programme
- Train 13,000 individuals in business & hospitality skills by FY30
