Overview
As part of our Spirit of Progress our ambition is to create the most inclusive and diverse environment that ensures all our people thrive, supported by market leading policies and practices; whilst also removing barriers and having a positive impact on our partners, suppliers and communities.
How we champion inclusion and diversity
Inclusive culture
We aim to create an environment within our business where every individual feels a sense of belonging and can thrive and contribute to their fullest.
We believe there is power in diversity and when people of different genders, ethnicities, ages, abilities, sexual orientations, social backgrounds, educations and experiences come together it is better for our business and society.
Supplier diversity
With our partners and suppliers, we champion inclusion and diversity across our entire value chain and work in partnership to create opportunities to propel growth and innovation. We champion diverse suppliers through partnership, advocacy and celebrating success to deliver sustainable economic impact in the many communities where we operate.
As part of our ‘Spirit of Progress plan' we will continuously measure and increase the percentage of diverse suppliers across our value chain year on year.
Inclusive communities
Where we source, make, and sell, we aim to provide equal access to resources, skills, and employment opportunities and have a positive impact on those communities. Our programmes include the provision of business and hospitality skills training, safe Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH), and support for smallholder farmers.
Part of how we promote sustainable growth, and a resilient supply chain is giving equal access to resources, skills, and employment opportunities. Learning for Life (L4L) is our business and hospitality skills programme for people from under-represented groups.
Our Spirit of Progress targets
- Equip 13,000 people with business and hospitality skills, to enhance their employability and livelihoods.
- Increase total women representation in the company to 33%, and in the leadership team to 50%, by 2025.
- Ensure 50% of the beneficiaries of our community programmes are women, with a focus on enhancing diversity and inclusion of underrepresented groups
