Raised in a defence family, Rashmi pursued MBA, laying the foundation for her career in business.

Fuelled by innate curiosity and a love for learning, Rashmi ventured into Sales and Brand Management, working across Real Estate, Telecom and Retail industries. After gaining valuable experience in sales, Rashmi joined Diageo India in a role in Customer Marketing Management. Reflecting on her five-year tenure at Diageo India, Rashmi says “I find satisfaction at work every day. I mainly enjoy the freedom and work-life balance Diageo offers.”

Rashmi’s success is underpinned by the support she receives from her family. “They not only backed my career choices but also encouraged me to excel in my pursuits” she adds. She applauds Diageo's employee-friendly policies and the supportive team, highlighting the organisation's commitment to mental health. Throughout her pregnancy, Rashmi experienced a positive atmosphere at work, where she received support from her peers and line manager. This environment was further enhanced by the well-structured parental leave policy, demonstrating the company's dedication to fostering a supportive and inclusive workplace for expecting parents like Rashmi.

Looking ahead, Rashmi sees a promising future for women in leadership. She shares, “Our CEO, Hina is my inspiration and following her footsteps, I urge the younger generation to trust their instincts and remain strong in the face of societal commentary. The future of women in leadership is undoubtedly bright. Do what you feel is right. There will be people to comment on your choices. But it’s you who must be strong.
