Devashish leads the Corporate Relations function at Diageo India and is a member of its Executive Committee and the Global Corporate Relations Leadership team. His responsibilities include driving policy advocacy across Regulatory, Tax and Trade related matters, Market Access, Corporate Reputation & Communications and delivering Social Impact in line with the Diageo’s Spirit of Progress ESG action plan.
Devashish has almost three decades of experience across diverse sectors including FMCG, Food Service, Information Technology, Infrastructure, Media and Automobiles. His experience includes government affairs, policy advocacy, sustainability and CSR.
Before joining Diageo, Devashish led the Corporate Affairs function at Hindustan Unilever Limited (HUL). At HUL, Devashish was instrumental in supporting the business strategy across categories and supply chain, through a powerful end to end Corporate Affairs agenda both in States and the Centre.
Prior to HUL, Devashish was the Executive Vice President for GSK Consumer Healthcare, India & South Asia. He has held several leadership roles including Country Head of Public Policy at Google India, Director Corporate Relations for Diageo’s business in India and South Asia. Devashish played a critical role in setting up the India operations and was the Managing Director – India and South Asia of APCO Worldwide, a leading International Public Affairs consulting company. He began his career as a Chartered Accountant at Arthur Andersen’s Business Advisory and Taxation Practice and later founded and headed a consulting business for over ten years, assisting multinational companies’ entry and building their Business and Government Affairs strategy for India.
Devashish is a member of the National Executive Council of FICCI and Public Affairs Forum of India.
An avid marathoner and cyclist, Devashish is a cricket and football enthusiast. He enjoys reading contemporary fiction, sports physiology and psychology, history and current affairs.
