Bengaluru, May 2, 2021: RCB has joined hands with the Give India Foundation to provide around 100 units of oxygen concentrators to extend support in Bangalore, and other cities. Since the start of the pandemic last year, RCB’s parent company, Diageo India has manufactured and distributed 3 lakh litres of sanitisers and committed 75 Crores INR towards the programme to support Indian hospitality sector.

In order to show respect and solidarity to all the frontline workers, the RCB team will be sporting a special Blue Kit in one of the early upcoming matches, instead of the flagship Go Green Initiative match this season. The Jersey will carry key messages to spread awareness to fight Corona to the millions of viewers watching the match. RCB will auction all the signed Blue Jerseys to raise money for the financial contribution. The auction will be conducted by Fankind, a fundraising platform.

Anand Kripalu, Chairman, Royal Challengers Bangalore, said, “Royal Challengers Bangalore stands united with our nation in this unprecedented crisis. There are numerous heroes all around our country who are selflessly fighting to save lives. The task is clearly enormous, and we wanted to help in whatever little way possible. We also encourage others to do their bit in this fight. We can and will win this battle together.”

Virat Kohli, Captain, Royal Challengers Bangalore, said, “This is a tough time for our country, what’s happening with the spread of the Covid virus is deeply concerning. It is only because of the frontline heroes that we hope to save humanity. We salute them and would like to take the opportunity to spread as much awareness for people to follow all the safety protocols. We would do every part that helps fight this battle and I believe together we can. Please join us and do your bit.”
